SELENDI KILIM RUGS     Selendi is a disctrict of Western Anatolian province Manisa. Weaving tradition in the district dates back to 14th century. On 14th Century Turkish tribes from Central Asia settled in the district and since then kilim weaving has been a very important part of the regions culture and economy. Selendi kilim rugs are mostly very colorful, Weavers always use hand spun wools on these rugs, patterns on the kilim rugs are embroideried by hands knot by knot. It is very rare to see small sized Selendi kilim rugs, they are mostly woven in medium or large sizes.

Oushak carpets were very valuable luxury items imported to Europe by European merchants for centuries. They were sold to wealthiest bourgeois and royal families in Europe. Oushak area rugs are made wool on wool and they are made in any sizes, they even have sizes to fullfill a whole palace room. Mostly used colors are light brown, beige, cinnamon, blue and red.
